The central green belt and wetlands will extend beyond Kala. Follow the bike path and walking trail north, to the future non-Government Primary School and Town Centre, or south to the extensive natural wetlands reserve, future Government school, sports ovals and indoor recreation centre.

Four future schools and three integrated community centres with kindergartens and Maternal and Child healthcare are coming, but right now you have a choice of schools for kids of all ages, from Pakenham Heights Kindergarten to Pakenham Primary School, Beaconhills College and Lakeside College.

The Pakenham East Precinct Structure Plan (PSP) was approved by the Minister for Planning. It includes 14 parks, two sports reserves, four schools, and a network of bike and walking paths connecting Kala to Pakenham train station and the new Pakenham East station.
