Introducing Kala Pakenham East – where great things come

Just five minutes from the heart of Pakenham, Kala has pretty much everything you want nearby.

But it’s everything that’s coming in the Pakenham East Precinct Structure Plan (PSP) that really has people excited.

The PSP was prepared by the Victorian Planning Authority, in consultation with Cardinia Shire and various government agencies, to guide new urban development in Pakenham East.

It covers a massive 630 hectares, from Princes Freeway in the south, Ryan Road and Deep Creek to the west, Mt Ararat Road to the east and the urban growth boundary to the north. Kala sits happily within its boundaries!

Our residents can look forward to being connected to a wide range of incredible new amenities through a comprehensive network of bike trails and walking paths. You’ll be able to ride to the proposed Pakenham East train station and existing Pakenham station, which will be upgraded as part of the Victorian government’s ‘Big Build’ level crossing removal project.

These trails will also connect you to fourteen new parks, two sports reserves, four new schools (three government and one private), three community centres with kindergartens and maternal and child health services, a new town centre, and even a local convenience centre.

Ultimately our Pakenham East community is expected to grow to 7,229 new homes and provide 1,436 new jobs. Wow!

Best of all, the Pakenham East PSP was approved by the Minister for Planning in December 2020 and gazetted in January 2021. So, yes – great things are coming to Kala!
